NEST+m Middle Grades is a screened program, open to applicants from all boroughs of New York City. Screened middle school programs admit students with the highest 4th Grade scores in ELA, Math, Social Studies and Science. Offers are made to ranked students by priority group and ranking number order.

HOW TO APPLY
- Set up your MySchools account.You will need a sign up code from your child's Guidance Counselor or contact a Family Welcome Center representative.
- NEST+m is listed in MySchools as "New Explorations Into Science, Technology & Math". Our school code is 01M539. You must be a resident of one of the five boroughs of NYC.
- Rank NEST+m as one of your program choices on the Middle School application in MySchools.
- There is no test for Middle Grades admissions.
ADMISSIONS RUBRIC & DETAILS
NEST+m is a screened program for Middle Grades. All screened middle school programs will admit students with the highest final 4th grade June report card grades in core classes (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies). Offers are made to ranked students by priority group and in ranking number order. Learn more about screened program admissions.
- Total 6th Grade Seats: 120 (General Education: 110 / Students with Disabilities: 10)
- Total 7th Grade seats: varies annually and managed by the Family Welcome Center in July
Anticipated 6th Grade Seats for New-to-NEST+m students
- General Education: 0 - 5
- Students with Disabilities: 8 - 10
Diversity in Admissions Program
We do not participate in DIA for Middle Grades admissions.
Middle grades offers and middle grades seat targets are the same: For 120 seats, 120 offers are made. Historically, most of our 5th grade students continue on to 6th grade.
We will make offers from the waitlist.

Sibling Priority
There is no sibling priority for students applying to middle school.
OFFERS
You will be able to log into your MySchools account to see the results in April, and you will receive a letter by mail. Visit the Department of Education’s Middle School Admission webpage to learn more. We will post Orientation information for admitted students on the Orientation webpage.
HOW TO REGISTER
If your child receives an offer to attend NEST+m, you will receive an email to schedule a registration appointment. Please DO NOT send documents unless you have received an offer to attend NEST+m.

NEW TO NYC PUBLIC SCHOOLS
If you are new to NYC or in private school, you must contact a Family Welcome Center to find out about enrolling your student in NYC public schools. The representative can help you set up your MySchools account.
RIGHT OF RETURN
If your student is discharged from NEST+m and wants to return, your request will be considered if there is an available seat.
